Gaza Strip

Humanitarian conditions in Gaza remained severely constrained by continued military activity, access restrictions, and further displacement. UNRWA reported that, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health and the Health Cluster, 73,231 Palestinians had been killed and 173,686 injured in Gaza between 7 October 2023 and 12 July 2026. It also reported 116 active collective emergency shelters hosting 76,000 displaced people and continuing restrictions on generators, fuel, and spare parts needed for basic services. West Bank

UNRWA reported that 1,111 Palestinians, including at least 243 children, had been killed in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, between 7 October 2023 and 13 July 2026. OCHA said settler attacks accounted for 55 per cent of Palestinian injuries recorded in the West Bank in 2026 and identified recurrent attacks and related access restrictions as drivers of displacement. The Palestinian Presidency, through WAFA, warned of an escalation in settler attacks across the Hebron, Nablus, and Ramallah governorates, alleging damage to homes and a mosque, assaults, property destruction, livestock theft, and olive-tree burning. Iran–United States and regional escalation

On 19 July, Reuters reported that the United States had completed an eighth consecutive night of attacks on Iran after the collapse of an interim ceasefire arrangement, while the dispute over shipping in the Strait of Hormuz deepened. Reuters reported that U.S. Central Command described the strikes as targeting Iranian coastal surveillance, air-defence, and maritime capabilities, while Iranian state television reported a drone attack on U.S. facilities in Kuwait. Iranian authorities said 50 people had been killed and 517 wounded in recent U.S. strikes, according to Associated Press reporting carried by PBS NewsHour. The same account reported the reactivation of air defences in Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain, and a sharp fall in Strait of Hormuz transits. Lebanon

Lebanon remained connected to the regional escalation. Reuters reported a renewed war between Israel and Hezbollah and said Lebanese President Joseph Aoun was discussing a U.S.-backed framework concerning Hezbollah’s disarmament and Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon. Eastern Europe

Russia–Ukraine Conflict

Russia launched a large missile attack on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities on 19 July. Reuters reported, citing Ukrainian officials, at least one death and 16 injuries in Kyiv, four deaths and 19 injuries near Kharkiv, and at least two deaths and 14 injuries in Zaporizhzhia; its report described seven deaths across the three locations at publication. OHCHR verified 279 civilian deaths and 1,947 injuries in territory controlled by the Government of Ukraine during June 2026. Its June update recorded 14 deaths and 43 injuries in territory occupied by the Russian Federation, while cautioning that limited access and information meant the actual number could be higher. Russian state broadcaster RT said Russia had struck five Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises in Kyiv and a seaport used for delivery and storage of military cargo. This is a Russian state-media account of the stated target set and is presented as a Russian claim. RT (Russian state)

Sudan

Sudan’s conflict continued to create acute civilian protection and public-health risks. A United Nations spokesperson, citing OCHA and WHO, reported multiple drone attacks across Darfur and Kordofan; WHO had recorded 1,330 confirmed cholera cases and 114 confirmed deaths as of 7 July. The Security Council had warned of reported RSF military reinforcements around El Obeid, the risk of mass atrocities, escalating violence in Kordofan, and the need for civilian protection and unhindered humanitarian access. Asia

Myanmar

Myanmar remained one of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises, according to OCHA, with more than 16 million people in need and nearly 3.8 million estimated displaced. OCHA said that recent hostilities in Magway alone had displaced more than 100,000 people and that only 43 per cent of the US$890 million 2026 response requirement had been received. Mizzima reported heavy fighting south of Myawaddy between junta forces and an alliance led by the Karen National Union/Karen National Liberation Army, as well as two civilian deaths reportedly caused by junta airstrikes in Loikaw and Hpasaung.
